The Music Goes On

Of course no video, no concert behind closed doors put out on streaming, can ever be a substitute for the magic and emotions of a live performance.
Nonetheless heartfelt thanks are due to all those musicians, including various members of the extended Cavartist family, who over these anxious months have continued to make music and share at least part of their invincible passion with others: Luigi Piovano in a video playing the Bourrée I from the Suite n. 3 by Bach, the members of the Carducci Quartet with Julian Bliss, putting out the fourth movement from Weber’s Clarinet Quintet, the Lautten Compagney recording a CD of music by Bach with soprano Anna Prohaska, Eleonora Contucci with mezzosoprano Francesca Pierpaoli and Paolo Vergari at the piano and their video of the opening movement of Pergolesi’s Stabat Mater, and Nikolay Khozyainov, who is recording and putting up on Youtube the complete works of Chopin at a rate of almost one post per day.
